Unlike a vehicle-based safari, a walking safari allows the traveler to enjoy a more intimate insight into Kenya’s animals and its people.
East Africa offer some of the best walking, hiking and trekking route. The best treks or hikes include Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak; Mount Kenya and the Rwenzori mountains.
In Kenya, other trekking destinations include: Mount Elgon, Cherengani Hills and Mount Longonot. The impressive Ololokwe, just north of Samburu, has some excellent climbing routes. Hell’s Gate National Park is also famous for trekking as it is the Arabuko Sokoke Forest along the Kenya Coast
